Everyone works with at least one or two challenging people such as low performers, attitude problems, or control addicts. Why continue feeling drained and defeated by a few difficult employees or customers? In this hands-on workshop, you’ll practice five skills that will increase your confidence and ability to talk with anyone about anything at work. Suzanne will share success stories from the leaders and teams she has coached to show how you can respond in a calm, firm way to resolve even the most challenging conflicts at work. You’ll leave the session with innovative communication tools that reduce stress and increase your effectiveness immediately.

My trip has been muy adventurous... must say. Here's a glimpse:

This train ride to Oklahoma has been very interesting. I’m in Texas now, which is good. I get to Norman tonight at about 9pm, hopefully sooner but it’s now 9 am so a full day is ahead. Once I land in Texas I’ll have to ship my bike to Tulsa. I had the super brilliant plan to only send the bike, retrieve my other bags and try to condense them to the point where I won’t have to send another bag. Most of the stuff in my carryon bag has been eaten or can just be smushed into my big suitcase. I put my jacket in the bag with the paint so I hope to God none of it came out on my jacket. Ahhh the thought of it makes me cringe, I love that jacket. I thought I was going to carry it on so I packed it on the top. I packed my paints really well though so I’m not worrying too much.

I met a conductor the first night who owns his own company and is looking to launch it soon. He is into nutrition so the company is called optimum body and he has products as well. Seemed like a cool connect, at this point I feel like all minorities need to help lift each other out of this dominance of economic control by those who are privileged. Let’s allow our people to be privileged in some respects-by helping each other. Shortly after that I got to talking to some Latinos/Puerto Ricans from California and Chicago. It was nice talking to them about how they started. One guy saved up his money, bout 5 thousand and started a construction company now he makes about 5 thousand a week and pays out about 4 thousand on child support for his kids. We got to talking and he may want me to draw his little girl, he was real hype about it. We even saw each other again when we were getting off the train in Chicago. They had tons of wine, red bull and beer that they were consuming. They offered me some and so I had a glass. The first night was definitely a good night, won’t forget it. This guy by the name of Fernando was so occupied with liking me that he couldn’t really focus on the productive conversation. There was a gay Puerto Rican from Chicago so for some odd reason they were getting pretty touchy feely just laying on top of each other while listening to music. We listened and talked until about 3 am then I got some zzz’s on the upper cart. We were in a small knuck on the lower cart...

Ok. ok. Yesterday was filled with goodness. Sometimes there are obstacles: in terms of other people, their non-belief, projection... what have you... but all I do is quickly shake it off, possibly talk it out and then MOVE ON!

So I moved on quickly from some interfering/bothersome feelings I had had about Sunday morning and did some heavy fellowshipping with a key community organizer... building is amazing!

Today I met with the DC Business Resource Center, which is part of the Chamber of Commerce. Jason Cross is definitely a good adviser, speaker and just all around good knowledgeable source. So we met for a good hr and our next meeting is set for later this week. I wanted to clear up some financial things before I headed for my home state of Oklahoma on the 19th. This is not a game. :) I will be spending 2 days on the train etching out a clearer plan!

Now, on to more creation.
