Afro Caribbean Dance ClassDiane Freeman offers an Afro Caribbean Dance Class, Tuesdays at the Market 5 Gallery. She spends the first hour of her class with the children, and the second hour with adults. Call ahead to ensure classroom space. My good friend Kofi, who lives in the Oxon Hill, MD area, takes tours to Ghana and Egypt every year!! This is definitely a good opportunity to see Africa and enjoy it with a few close friends. This is not going down until next year 2011 so get your money right and hop on the motherland hoopty!!

Haiti Uprisin'! Sunday, March 7th be ready to discuss and Party! 

A panel discussion took place at Sisterspace and Books on Georgia Avenue with three Haitian-born americans, discussing before and after the earthquake. Following Dekka Art Store on U Street housed the Open Mic where artists such as N'Digo Rose, Ashley Logan, and the Malcolm X Drummers added to the spirit. Check the blog for event pictures!  

I want to thank everyone for coming out!!! It was a success, all of it, due to all the support and help we had!!!
