Founder/CEO: Nicole HIllie
Age: 30 Ft. Washington, MD Underground Tree Projects: What does nVision do? Nicole Hillie: nVision provides high quality designs and solutions to our customers. Our goal is to create effective and communicative products through different channels of media. We offer web site design, ecommerce development, graphic design, video editing and book publishing. UTP: How did the name nVision come about? NH: I choose nVision because it captures what my media company wants to accomplish, getting our viewers the best visual and mental messages. I comprise nVision from the word envision, to picture mentally, esp. some future event or events. I changed the “en” to n to reflect my first name Nicole. UTP: Biggest moments for Nvision? NH: The Biggest moment for nVision was the launch of www.info4living.info. Info4living is our first fully functioning website with books, articles, video and commentary along with integrated social media. Info4Living has over 40 web pages and grows approximately 100 viewers per month. UTP: What inspired you to start Nvision? NH: As a child I would cut playground deals on candy, buying a pack of starburst and selling the individual pieces to my classmates. I‘ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and knew one day that I would start my own business. nVision started from a school web project. I had to create a website for a cause, my topic was diabetes which later became Fosters Curve. From that I decided it was time to start a multimedia design company, where I would focus on conscious driven material. UTP: What does being financially independent mean to you? NH: Financial independence means a lot to me on a creative level, as you know I am an artist. America is known as a place where you can make your dreams come true, but what they don’t tell you is it takes money to have a mere attempt at your dreams. Dreams are creativity at your greatest level; dreams are what we make things from. To have your creativity stifled due to the lack of funding creates a stagnate place. Then eventually you die watching tv programs of other people’s dreams. So I strive to be independent in every aspect. UTP: Downfalls since beginning Nvision? NH: I feel the first downfall for nVision was registering it with the state. I knew what type of corporation I wanted then changed my mind at the last minute. After a year of operation I had to change my corporation status to original corporation, wasting a few hundred dollars to resolve the issue. To a brand new business a few hundred dollars is equivalent to a few thousand. But, I have to say it was a great lesson in being a proactive planner and recognizing there is very little room for second guessing. UTP: Future for Nvision? NH: Future for nVision is to simply grow in a positive lucrative direction, within that direction raises consciousness for the people touch. UTP: Quotes that keep you going? NH: “This too shall pass” - Eckhart Tolley |
