Holly shares her journey of starting, her continued faith along the way as well as the future of Styel Fly.
UTP: What gave you the inspiration to start Styel Fly?
Holly: Well before I finished college for Fashion design and marketing my brother and I were having a conversation about opening a thrift store. We came up with the idea to have celebrities donate their clothes and he said I should name it "Still Fly" because of the fact that they were used garments. Of course I changed the letters around because I started to formulate a plan but as a few years passed my desires grew into helping talented designers that didn't quite understand the fashion industry.
UTP: When did you start?
Holly: My company started last December by carrying a former college mates brand called Frome2u, which are digital earrings. I'm known as the lady with earrings but they quickly find out I have more to offer.
UTP: What type of faith did it take to start your own company?
Holly: It took a lot of faith to start the brand and still takes a lot to see it through. I have come to understand that selling and connecting peoples brand with consumers takes time and patience. Even in planning you may not turn the profit you desire. So you must have faith for the next endeavor/event showcasing your product. I always wonder why some businesses fail, lack of research and faith or because your profit isn't turning fast enough you throw in the towel. Many great businesses start again and again because the world is ever changing.
UTP: What are your current hopes for the future in terms of Styel Fly, growing it and making it stronger?
Holly: My current hope for Styel Fly is a staff of at least 5, getting brands placed in department stores, boutiques and still gigging at festivals. This will allow me to turn a profit to open up the first free standing store.
UTP: What are some of the fondest memories while traveling and selling this one of a kind jewelry, how does it make you feel, others, etc?
Holly: The memories are always the men that are super surprised that I carry mens ties from Michael Thomas out of LA. Men often find little or nothing for them out at festivals or events.
UTP: What type of advice would you have for someone trying to start a venture/business?
Holly: The best advice to give someone wanting to do anything weather it's a business, moving to a new country or even getting into a relationship is to take a year to research it first. This way when the time comes you're somewhat prepared. I mean you can start your business but the road will be bumpie but stay focused on the service of the people and you will go very far. Since I have started my business I have 15 followers which is more than what I started with but by next year I hope for 50.
